The Storks Have Been Busy

It's "that time" again ... everyone seems to be popping out babies!

I received a phone call from Wifey this morning, telling me that her sister gave birth shortly after 9am to a bouncing baby boy! Younger sibling to their almost-two-year-old daughter. We hope to be able to visit the whole family in the hospital tonight. He was 9 pounds, 2 ounces ... and apparently everyone is well. Here's the mental image I have of my new nephew, completely without any bias or melodrama whatsoever:

Can't you just hear the angels singing?

So anyway, the other month some friends of ours (who are having an "extended holiday" in China) had their first child; a daughter. The photos they sent of her are just beautiful. This isn't one of them, but it's a fairly accurate representation of her:

Almost a year ago, I posted about the first birthday of a gorgeous little girl 'owned' by two great friends of mine. Well, last week Jophesine had a baby brother added to the family, so now Jophesine will be able to play with Jemery all day long. I'm yet to meet him, but I reckon he's gonna look something like this:

Also, I received an email this morning from a former colleague of mine, who wanted to show off her new niece:

And why wouldn't you. She's gorgeous, the little pet.

Additionally, I was delighted to meet another couple of friends' baby at our Baby Shower the other week, who we hadn't had the chance to meet so far. She was fast asleep most of the time, but she looked absolutely adorable. Here's my impression of what she looks like awake:

Finally, another couple who are friends of ours had a 'miracle baby' (their second miracle baby, actually) about a month ago. He's clearly going to be like his Dad (and two-year-old brother) and become a drummer, so here's an image we'll be seeing very shortly:

So what's the wash-up of all this baby-making activity going to mean for us? In the wake of all these truly adorable babies being born before ours comes along, by the time Baby BEVIS appears on the scene in around six weeks' time, will anyone care anymore?

Probably not, if it ends up looking the way I think it will:

(The poor bastard.)

If your brother is in commericals, your sister could probably model and both you and wifey are totally hot in that image up there, then I'm sure you're genes aren't too bad.... unless ol' Bugs had more to do with the baby making process than you're letting on... darn rabbits mating like rabbits!!

If that last picture is really how Bevis Jnr is going to look then start saving for orthodontic treatment now.

However I think your baby will be every bit as cute as Shiloh and much much cuter than Suri. Who, if reports are to be (dis)believed, has been hit with the ugly stick. Multiple times.

Only six weeks huh? How exciting!
