Fingers Crossed
I applied for a job today. I'm not confident that I'll get it, but I'd love to.
It was my first real job application in all the time I've been off work. That's almost three months to the day, in human years.
I've been a little off-form recently, and I know it.
I guess I'm asking for hopes and prayers and crossed fingers and best wishes and a pox on the houses of my fellow applicants from you all.
That's not too much to ask, is it?
I'll get to my TGYH and TAR 9 reviews tomorrow and over the weekend. Today it's all about putting myself out there again. Big step for me, baby steps for ordinary people.
I need to go have a lie-down now.
(I have issues.)

Well done Bevis! We're thinking of you over here in England in the hopes thatyour wishes come true. Any clues as to the job you applied for?
Noshie
Good luck! Applying for jobs sucks butt.
Have you thought about contacting some agencies?
They can help you with that initial contact (the hard bit).
Wishing you luck.

Pole dancer?
Dear Bevis,
everybody has issues, so you're not alone in this.
Good luck for the job :)
GOOD LUCK BEVIS!!!!!!!
Good luck!
Television critic?
Scriptwriter for Neighbours?
Or have you entered for the next series of Amazing Race?
Actually, that might not be a good idea with Wifey being pregnant and all. Unless its a family version, where the couple have to track a baby around with them and complete baby related tasks... there's an idea.
Good luck with whatever it is!

I'm so very glad you found something that enthused you enough to complete an application. :)
I really hope that this job works out for you and that if it doesn't then it has been a step in the right direction and you can be that much more positive that you will find another position in the same vein.
Well done, good luck and keep us posted!!
*fingers crossed*
Noshie, thank you for that, both of you. I can tell you that it's not located very far from the job from which I resigned in February. I'll elaborate more in an email, if you like.
CBomb, yes, I'm beginning to sense that! Thank you for your kind words (apart from the word 'butt').
Elaine, I hadn't, but maybe I will. Thanks for the suggestion. P)
Unique_Stephen, um ... no. Not even close. But feel free to keep guessing. (Keep it clean, though.)
Sheriff of Nothing, many thanks for that!
Tammiodo, you're right - and it's encouraging to keep that in mind. Thank you.
MelbourneGirl, hehe - thanks. I know you mean it, because you used capital letters and a record seven exclamation marks.
Susanne, thank you; much appreciated.
Magical_M, ha! I wish! All great suggestions, and things I'd love to do. You know me too well! Many thanks.
Riss, well, even though my application was late, I heard back from the woman who said she'd forward it on (better than being told "sorry, no can do, you're too late"). So that's a promising start! But so far, no further word. I'm sure it'll all work out for the best. If I'm meant to get it, I will. If I'm not, then the experience was useful in that it finally got me out there again, and I can go from there. Cheers!
CBomb, I received your other comment, asking me if the job was in a particular suburb, but I didn't want to let what you wrote appear up here because of the whole "too much information" thing. I hope you understand.
But I can answer your question thusly: Nup. It's even closer than that. (Think: On the same premises, but this time, working for The Enemy.)
Bevis, Good luck!!!!!!!!
Look out for my Krispy Kreme post, coming soon.
Thanks, Clokes. I've been checkin', but there ain't nothing there yet ...
