Why do you always come here? I guess we'll never know. It's like a kind of torture, To read this blog, y'know.
Welcome to the most sensational, inspirational, celebrational, Muppetational blog since Kermit left just a little bit of the swamp in his pants.

I hope this goes a long way towards explaining my apparent 'flakiness', unreliability (especially in regards to returning phone calls and emails), and my very odd hours of late. It should also cast some light on Wifey's and my inability to attend appointments, functions, get-togethers and whatnot over the past six weeks. It's been a very trying time, because in addition to me being out of work, Wifey has been extremely sick for most of the past thirteen weeks, and she has needed me by her side for almost every minute of that time. I've been at her beck and call (so it has turned out to be a very good thing indeed that I was out-of-work over this period -- we found out Wifey was pregnant during my last week of work), but she is fully-recovered from the full-on, constant morning sickness now.
:)
oh, Bevis. A thousand congratulations. x
Congrats dude. Name the kid Ben okay?
YOINK!!
well done champs
Firing on one cylinder I see Mr B....
Congrats!!
Well done you two. Many months and years of joy to follow, but then for a quick reality check, put yourself in your parents' shoes and reflect on the 5 of joy you provided them. Daytona Man
Hey, a Dadda at last. What kept you so long? Well done & congratulations. Crawshaws
Congratulations!!! Now where is that URL of the shop that was selling baby t-shirts that said "All Mum wanted was a backrub".
OH, CONGRATULATIONS my two + one lovelies. That's absolutely WONDERFUL news and I'm EXTREMELY HAPPY for you.
*cries* *with happiness*
Congrats! Better start stocking up on animation and muppet videos... never mind.
Congratulations! This is wonderful news.
Glad to see that you are getting used to the sleepless nights, that explains a lot.
So if it's a boy - Robin, a girl - Robin?

Yaaaaaayyyy!!!!
Allow me join in the giving of congratulations to the both of you!
So tell me Bevis, ever changed a nappy?

Hey Bevis & Wifey,
CONGRATULATIONS!! I can't wait to see the bundle of joy!!
Miss you both heaps, and I'll see you soon! I'll be able to take him/her (hopefully one or the other) to some Swannies games!
Love to you both...
(Uncle) Little Bevis
hmmm, a little bevis is on its way - be prepared for it(she/he) to come out dancing ....and singing ...and perhaps tossing off some quirky one-liner - as for names...Kermit Bevis sounds good
ex DUSA person who remains anonymous but usually wears dark glasses ...
Wonderful news Bevis! xx LC
Congratulations to both of you!!
But since you asked, "what were you expecting", dare I say... a Muppet?? :)
Well done mate, nice to see that the boys are keen swimmers. Word up to Wifey and all the best, you'll both make excellent parents. Might want to get yourself a job now though, those little critters are expensive.
good job! i was only saying today how much i like being pregnant, i really hope it gets better for wifey from here on in
coolness. you need to go shopping for vintage kids muppets t shirts
yay both of you!!!!!!!!!
p.s. my word verification was 'dblune' which sounds like 'dubloon' which makes me think of pirates, so i think you should call the baby a pirtaey name, all because of me :)
Dude! Holy shit! That TV screen is evolving!
Don't let it!
Just for you and Wifey, I am going to do my Bring It On chant...
Awesome! Oh wow!
Like totally freak me out,
I mean right on!
Bevis sure is number one
That is very cool. Congrats.
Just don't dump me as a blog mate because I have yet to adopt the Cambodian orphan.
He's on his way.
xox
PS - Word verification = shugbx. That sounds very Mork & Mindy to me.
PPS - Are you going to give Bevis Jnr a Muppet name? Are ya? Are ya?
Nice work BEVIS! and wifey! You'll soon have a lovely Tiny Man (TM) or Tiny Girl (TG) of your own xxx Fluff
ps. before our TM was born we called him Cleetus the Foetus. do you have a similar pet name?
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!
I mean... um... woo!
(You're gonna be the best dad EVER.)
And, in response to the comment about using verification words as names, what do you think of 'Seyhaj'?
HUGE Congratulations!
gosh, I second carly's idea. Maybe even after one of the muppets in Muppet Treasure Island.
That is such exciting news mr bevis, much love to you both.
x
Congratulations to you and Wifey!! I must say that I suspected such an event taking place soon, as I understand the need to look after a sick, pregnant wife. Keep your 'Muppet' stuff out of baby's reach as they grab and drool on anything!!
Congrats Bevis & wifey! Awesome news. You'll make wonderful parents. Shifty
Bevis and Wifey
Congratulations! We're both VERY happy for you. Can' wait to meet junior Bevis.
Baby Cole is due to arrive in 3 weeks so its great to know s/he will have a playmate
Love Bec and Kendal
Well done to both of you. We MUST catch up for one of our famous dinner parties soon! From Mr and Mr Slutteral
Well done Bevis. Who knew such a small frog had it in him!!
I hope this is the first of many tadpoles to come.
Congratulations.
Congratulations Bevis. Cigars and cognac all round. Please pass on my best to Wifey since I haven't seen the both of you in ages. Back in town working now, so will have to try and catch you both to pass on congrats in person.
Chris.
Thank you, everyone! Such kind words! Wifey and I have very much enjoyed reading through these comments as they've come in. Please know that every one of them has given us warm fuzzy feelings. :)
I also appreciate messages from people who otherwise might never have visited my blog - but then, that was the point of only sending out a cryptic email with a URL in it! (Still, commenting was optional, so thank you.)
Anyway, I'm not going to respond to each individual message like I normally do, but I will say the following:
Ben and Clokeeeey and LittleFaerieGirl and Elaine and Magical_M and the mysterious ex-DUSA person who usually wears sunglasses, names are yet to be decided, but thanks for your input! (We won't even know the baby's gender until the birth!)
Logan, no I haven't - but I'm sure I'll be getting a lot of practice in soon!
Jobe, okay, I won't.
Magical_M, I would never do that. I ain't no LARDAASS (copyright Magical_M Enterprises).
Fluffy, pet name? No. Not yet, at least. I like yours very much, though. :)
Bec and Kendal, only three weeks? You must be about ready to burst! All the best!
And finally, to all those of you who said "we must catch up" or "keep in touch", we absolutely agree! If you don't have my email address, you can get it from my blog (it's at the top on the right, where it says 'Email Me'). Don't be strangers, any of you.
Everyone else, thanks so much again.
CONGRATULATIONS!! I think I will call your baby Muppet until he/she gets here. And then maybe afterwards, too. This is fantastic news! Hope your wife feels better soon!
Hey Bevis & Wifey!
Was just thinking the other week that is must be time for a little one to come along!
We will be joining in you in a couple of years! Just in time for little one no# 2 for you guys! Sorry to hear that Wifey had morning sickness so bad!
Love to all 3 of you from Simon & Kirsty xoxoxoox
i am really annoyed. i left a comment a couple of days ago and it disappeared so now you've been thinking i haven't congratulated you.
and you've been hating me??
i was sick yesterday and so didn't turn on computer all day. so didn't realise my comment hadn't taken.
this is the second time, first the mc_hammer leg comment and now this.
so can i make up for it now??
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!
pop, bang, whizz, yee-ha!!!
woo woo woo woo woo woo
well done you both. i am very happy for you my friend, it's wonderful, wonderful news.
So when does your new job start?
Thanks again, everyone - much appreciated!
Yes, MelbourneGirl, I confess that I did wonder about your apparent 'silence'. I nearly wrote something yesterday like "I'm not moving on from this post until MelbourneGirl leaves me a message", but I'm glad now that I didn't. Sorry you're having troubles leaving a message here sometimes. I wish I knew what was going wrong. :( Thanks for your cheeriness in the face of such adversary, however!
Riss, ?? Not yet. But thanks for that, 'Mum'. :) I've got my own parents staying with us for a couple of days, so we're taking some time out from our lives to spend it with them ... plus, I've got enough 'mothering' going on! :)
Congratulations me boy!
Ah, you know me - only thinking of Wifey. I'd be having the hugest headache if Logan didn't have a job and I was in the same situation.
Consider me chastised.
Thanks, Susanne.
No, Riss, I won't consider you chastised. That's not what I was doing. :)
bevis, good luck on not knowing if its a boy or a girl till its born. both my kids sat with their legs wide open during the ultrasound and there was no question they were boys
have fun
xxxxxxxx
You have to give the baby a pregnancy name- the name it has before birth- Muppet is a great idea!!
thr
Congrads
You have no idea how much your life is about to change
LittleFaerieGirl, thanks. I actually think it may have been inadvertantly spoilt for us already, but I don't think Wifey caught the doctor's slip. Not game to ask, in case the act of me asking brings it to her attention (you know what I mean?). Will stay quiet on it regardless, and just wait and see. As for your comment, did you know they were boys because of what you could see on the ultrasound, or because only boys would sit with their legs wide open?* :) Thanks for your well-wishes.
* Not a real question; I'm just having fun.
Thomasr, yes - it would appear that there's some pressure for me to come up with a pre-birth nickname for the little thing! I'm certainly prone to go with a Muppet name, but 'Muppet' itself is one of Wifey's pet-names for me, so it'd sound a little weird being applied to the baby as well. I'll think about it and get back to you all soon. Promise.
Unique_Stephen, welcome! And thank you. Yeah, everyone's been telling us that, plus we've seen it plenty of times close up with siblings and close friends who've headed into parenthood before us, so although I'm confident that I know how much I don't yet know, I think I already know something of the incredible level of change we're about to encounter. I'm not saying that "I understand it" yet, but I think I have a fair idea of how life-changing it will be. And all I can say is: Bring it on! (I've been clucky for years! This is long overdue. Well, you know what I mean.) Thanks for your comment.
Congratulations, Bevis and Wifey.
Sorry this message is so late, but my blogging has been sporadic recently.
No problem at all, Tuppence. Thanks for the well-wishes. :)
Hope you're well.
Another late ...
CONGRATULATIONS!!!
So, I guess you'll be a Mom-blogger from now on..?
And then, of course, you'll need to get a cat.
Quirkie, thank you! We've already got two cats, so I guess that means both Wifey and I can be Mom-Bloggers.
What does that mean, exactly? And can I choose to spell it properly, as in 'Mum-Bloggers'?
:)
Thanks, Dxxxx! Yes, I enjoyed our coffee and catch-up. I feel silly for not having worn any pants that day, though - and the moment was captured in a photo, too! How embarrassing.
We are certainly very eager to meet the little one, and wonder if he or she will have inherited Kermit's voice, Gonzo's nose, Animal's temperment, Fozzie's sense of humour, or Miss Piggy's jealous streak.
Yikes! What a combination!
