Randy?

Here's a "Friday Fun One" for you ...

Open a blank Microsoft Word document. Type (or copy and paste) the following into the document:

=rand(10,10)

Now press enter.

SHAZAM!

Magic, huh? Now change the first 10 to 5, and the second 10 to 20.

See what happens? One relates to the number of sentences, and the other relates to the number of paragraphs. Now go and tell all your friends about it.

Cut fully sick.

Rinse and repeat.

THAT WAS ME AND CLOKEY!!

THEN the voted-in-people BEING SENT IN WITH A BOTTLE OF CHAMPAGNE!!!

didn't richard watts get sent in with a bottle, and then proceeded to drink it all by himself? did gretel killeen not make mention of the fact that "it's only one bottle so it won't go too far" or somesuch similar??

do you see how i'm overusing !!!s and ???s

i reckon they are watching the blogs. or maybe you are a mole. a tester of ideas, an engineer of run-throughs.

hope you're still talking to me froggy.

Javatari, consider yourself so educated.

Mick, ha! Very good. (And true, too.) Are you a Microsoft progammer?

Mars, it’s just a marvel of modern computing. Why? Aren’t you impressed with the way they spend their expensive time? Surely you’re delighted that they do this kind of thing when they should be fixing all the bugs in their systems instead?

MelbourneGirl, I certainly noticed those similarities (and more besides). It also took just moments into the second Big Brother show of the year for Gretel to snap at the stage crew. We’re off to a flying start! What a shame Big Blogger 2 had to die in the arse – there’s plenty of fodder to use as storyboard material already! Anyway, I am impressed by your overuse of !!! and ???, although I think this was done merely to get my attention – which isn’t necessary, I assure you. I ain’t no mole or tester of ideas (that I’ve been informed of, anyway; perhaps my whole life is Network Ten’s Truman Show without my knowledge??), and I sometimes like to imagine that People Who Matter are reading my humble little blogs. But let’s face it – that’s ridiculously unlikely. And of course I’m “still talking to you” – why wouldn’t I be? Because of that silly Easter Sunday thing? I’ve put that well behind me. There’s plenty going on in my real life at the moment that’s taking up heaps of my time, so that’s the reason for my recent low-lying-ness. Put those big, wide-open, sad eyes away and put on your bright, smiley, happy face.

I was thinking about 'Big Blogger' (TM) last night as Logan and I were waiting for BB07 overrun (with sound muted) to end last night and I am sad that it won't be going ahead.

I was thinking that last year you started a little after the new tv season had started so maybe you killed this one a little too early? Not in Wifey's eyes, obviously, as she and Sweetums will have more of your time.

Maybe people were waiting for BB07 to start so they could get a feel for how their characters might be portrayed in Big Blogger and to know a bit more about this year's story before jumping on the golf cart?

Thoughts?

Riss, it’s kind of you to say that you’ll miss it (but I notice you didn’t apply!); are you suggesting that you might’ve maybe possibly considered thinking about it ... but only after Big Brother was well underway?

The thing is, I knew what I had planned for Big Blogger 2, and it rested upon a week-by-week mirroring of actual events on Big Brother. So not having enough Housemates by the launch date pretty much shot it in the foot (to use an analogy we’re all very familiar with, around these ‘ere parts).

It’s certainly a shame from my perspective (all the initial planning work I’d put into it – even in its draft form, as it is – and the writing of gags, Friday Night Live themes, twists and turns, etc, was disheartening to have to throw to the wind), but if the public isn’t interested, the public isn’t interested.

I don’t want to invest all that time and creative output into something that only two people will read (one of whom being myself, and the other being someone from Network Ten scouring for ideas for Big Blogger 2008 ... PAY ME FOR MY IDEAS, YOU CHEAPSKATES!).

Anyway, the time issue was the main problem, here. I’m conscious of spending more and more time online, and less and less time with Wifey & Sweetums … and I don’t want that to become a habit or a point of contention in our home. My wife and son come first. As they should.

Another suggestion that Javatari had given me on email was that perhaps last year’s Big Blogger participants might have expected to have more involvement / input in what their characters were doing from week to week, so this is something I put a lot of thought into and was planning to incorporate (as best I could within certain pre-planned ‘script’ ideasand concepts). But – alas and alack – I won’t be able to do that now. I was even planning a Let The Blood Run Free-style choice for readers to determine what happened next (out ot two or three choices).

Also: “… before jumping on the golf cart …” – your wit has been acknowledged and applauded. Well done with that one. Very good. :)

I thought about applying but several things (read: voices in my head) stopped me. I trust you but I am also too cautious.

I understand needing time with the fam. This time will only happen once, I'm sure anyone would tell you, and there is much blurting on tummys to be done!

Thank-you. *curtseys*

Have you seen these:

bigblogger2.blogspot.com
bigblogger2005.blogspot.com
bigblogger2006.blogspot.com
bigblogger2007.blogspot.com

I was transfixed by the last two...

Yeah, I found out about them shortly after starting Big Blogger last year. But mine was heaps different to those other versions, so really the only things they had in common were the name, the source origin, and the idea that bloggers were playing fictional BB Housemates. :)
